Cowen, Mary (10 FEB 1865 - 9 MAR 1898)

Died, at her home near Abbotsford, Wis., on Wednesday, March 9^th, 1898, Mary, wife of Frank Cowen, aged 33 years and 1 month.

Mary Doerenenburg was born in Germany, Feb. 10^th, 1865; she came to this country with her parents, who settled in Wisconsin in 1868; living for a time in Colby, but for the past twenty years on a farm near Abbotsford; she was united in marriage with Frank Cowen at Abbotsford, Feb. 17, 1882; she was the mother of four children, 3 sons and 1 daughter, one of the children being an infant born but a few days before the death of its mother.

Her husband and children, her parents and brothers and sisters survive to mourn the loss of a true wife, an affectionate mother and a kind and loving daughter and sister.

The funeral occurred at Abbotsford Friday, and was attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances, the interment was in Colby Cemetery, Rev. S. A Hoffman officiated.
